Plein Air: Missoula, Montana

A chilly Autumn morning, we set up on the river bank of the beautiful Blackfoot River. The wind was fierce and clouds danced in front of the sun’s warmth. I bundled up with a blanket, hat and scarf. The day’s zephyr was impatient and soon got the best of us, but not before Rex painted and I wrote.
Inspired by the shifting light, I snapped photographs of the sky reflecting in my sunglasses. I caught sight of the scene an was inspired. Look closely to see the active story–the wind flits my notebook pages as the clouds race through the sky.
